
Treatment with the investigational drug lisdexamfetamine dimesylate (NRP104) showed a statistically significant reduction in the symptoms of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children aged 6 to 12 years as demonstrated by the results oaf a Phase III Clinical Trial recently presented at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA).
NRP104 has been developed by New River Pharmaceuticals Inc. but being co-developed and commercialized by Shire plc.
Also presented at APA is the Phase II trial of NRP104 that demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in ADHD symptoms comparable to mixed amphetamine salts extended-release (MAS XR).
