Following the report of a death and several other injuries, the FDA is warning consumers and health care professionals not to use "Bismacine", also known as "Chromacine".
Bismacine is an injectable product supposedly against Lyme disease, and is prescribed or administered by "alternative health" advocates. However, bismacine is not FDA approved for any disease.
Should you be using this product and have experienced adverse reactions, report it to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online, or call 1-800-FDA-1088, or send the postage-paid FDA form 3500 to MedWatch, 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20852-9787 or fax it to 1-800-FDA-0178.
