
The jury in the case of Linda Reeves v. Wyeth found in favor of Wyeth (NYSE: WYE). The said trial began on August 23, before Judge Bill Wilson in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Arkansas when the plaintiff alleged breast cancer resulting from the use of PREMARIN™ and PREMPRO™, women's health products marketed by Wyeth.
The products: PREMARIN (conjugated estrogens tablets USP) and PREMPRO (conjugated estrogens/edroxyprogesterone acetate tablets) are approved as safe and effective when used as indicated.
Lyn P. Pruitt, an attorney with Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard PLLC; a firm representing Wyeth in the case, stated that the jury's decision was consistent with the evidence presented and the body of scientific knowledge around hormone therapy.
