Sanofi-aventis (NYSE: SNY) and Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) gained favor on the Plavix® patent infringement case when the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has recently granted a preliminary injunction ordering Apotex Inc. and Apotex Corp. to halt its sales of a generic version of clopidogrel bisulfate product that competes with PLAVIX®.

Although the court did not order the Canadian drugmaker, Apotex, to recall products already sold and shipped.
