More prevalent in adults, insomnia is a condition characterized by difficulty falling asleep, waking frequently during the night, waking too early and not being able to return to sleep, or waking up not feeling refreshed. This condition is suffered by nearly 70 million American adults.
(I wonder when big pharmaceutical companies start throwing Asian statistics. My mother alone suffers this very condition and I’m sure many others in this region.)

Based in San Diego, Somaxon's lead product candidate, SILENOR™ (doxepin HCl), is currently under Phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of insomnia. After which, if USFDA is satisfied, approval, marketing and commercialization will follow.
