
Part of the top selling class of drugs in China, the antibiotic levofloxacin is used to treat bacterial infections including pneumonia, urinary tract, kidney and skin infection.
AMDL, Inc. (Amex: ADL)’s Chinese subsidiary -Jade Pharmaceutical Inc. – has commenced the production of the antibiotic levofloxacin, following recently approval for the said product from the China State Food and Drug Administration.
According to Gary Dreher, AMDL CEO:
"Jade Pharmaceuticals is producing levofloxacin at the Jiangxi Jade Biochemistry Ltd. manufacturing facility in the South China City of Shargro in the Jiangxi Province of China and, at present, this product will only be sold in the People's Republic of China. That facility recently was reapproved for meeting worldwide GMP standards of manufacture.”
AMDL, Inc. is headquartered in Tustin, California and through its wholly owned subsidiary Jade Pharmaceutical Inc., has operations in Shenzhen, Jaingxi and Jilin China.
In the United States, levofloxacin (Levaquin) is manufactured by Ortho-McNeil, Inc.
