Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (15809101) has signed a licensing agreement that entitles Canadian marketing rights for Xyrem® (sodium oxybate) to Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (NYSE: VRX).
Cataplexy is a condition characterized by sudden loss of muscle tome associated with narcolepsy.
Xyrem® is the first and only product approved in Canada for the treatment of this condition.
Under the terms of agreement, Valeant will make an upfront payment to Jazz Pharmaceuticals, including payments based on future sales of Xyrem® in Canada.
