Texas State was the first to agree to the mandatory HPV vaccination of 11-12 year old girls.
However, the Florida Policy Roundtable is continuing its campaign to stop such legislation to protect civil rights and the safety of children.
According to Elaine Merritt, Legislative Director of the Florida Policy Roundtable:
"This legislation is a product of Merck and Co., and will make Merck billions of dollars. The purpose of state government and public education is not to make profits for drug companies while trashing the constitutional rights of families and students and placing children's health at risk.”
The Roundtable believes that if Merck’s HPV Vaccine is good for children, then parents should make the voluntary choice of giving the vaccine to their children.
