Sanofi-Aventis SA is suing Teva Pharmaceuticals and Barr Laboratories, generic drug manufactures, over Uroxatral. Uroxatral is a drug used for treating prostrate grand enlargement.
Sanofi argues that Teva and Barr are infringing two U.S patents according to two complaints filed in Wilmington, Deleware federal court. "Plaintiffs will be irreparably harmed'' if copies of the drug, whose chemical name is alfuzosin hydrochloride, are approved for sale by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, according to the complaints.
A complete list of other companies included in the suit is included in Phil Milford's article on Bloomberg.
