
Abbott Laboratories' (NYSE:ABT) finds itself at #14 for research and development budget with $1.71 bn EUR and #9 for sales in 2006. Abbott did issue a recall on
blood pressure monitors in September and received FDA approval for Niaspan indicated as a medication in boosting HDL (good) cholesterol but overall has had a lackluster year. Currently it has 4 drugs in Phase III trials.

Adalimumab (Humira) - Rheumatoid Arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Juvenile RA, Ulcerative Colitis, Uveitis, Giant Cell Arteritis
Levosimendan - Congestive heart failure, Acute Heart Failure, Cardiogenic Shock, Septic Shock
ABT-335 androsuvastatin calcium - Hypercholesterolemia, Dyslipidemia
Atrasentan - Cancer, Prostatic Neoplasms Pricalcitol - Chronic Renal Insufficiency
